Privacy Policy - A Childs Voice ® Preventing Suicide in Schools

At A Child’s Voice® , we are committed to protecting the privacy and safety of children participating in our 10-week emotional wellbeing and self-harm prevention programmes. We respect children’s privacy and handle all information anonymously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information provided by schools.

What We Collect

We may collect:

  • Anonymous wellbeing information: Emotional wellbeing, coping skills, self-harm prevention behaviours, and programme feedback 
  • Programme participation data: Attendance, engagement, and survey responses 

No identifying information such as names, addresses, or contact details is collected from children.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Monitor and improve programme quality 
  • Understand how children are benefiting from the programme 
  • Provide aggregated reports to schools for planning and support purposes 

We do not use information for marketing and it is collected solely for programme delivery and improvement.

Sharing Information

Information is kept confidential and always anonymous. We may share:

  • Aggregated results with schools to support wellbeing planning 
  • With healthcare or mental health professionals if needed (in anonymised form) 
  • Only if legally required or if there is a safeguarding concern (handled at the school level) 

We do not sell, share, or publicly identify children.

Keeping Data Safe

  • All data is stored securely 
  • Access is limited to authorised programme staff 
  • No identifying information is collected, reducing privacy risks 

How Long We Keep Data

  • Data is retained only as long as necessary for programme evaluation and legal obligations 
  • Once no longer needed, anonymised data is securely deleted 

Consent

  • Schools provide consent for children to participate 
  • Children are informed in an age-appropriate way about the programme and data collection
